PRESS RELEASE

November 25th, 2007

Roop Chanderdat, President & Co-Owner, of the Petrolia Jets of the Western Ontario Hockey League (WOHL) has named Todd Annett as their new head coach.
Todd was an assistant coach and is taking over for Randy Campbell who resigned due to family commitments. Todd and his family reside in Petrolia. The club has also brought Petrolia native Brian Shannon on board. "This is a good fit for our organization and we believe the coaching staff in place can lead us to wins" says Chanderdat.
Annett and Shannon shared coaching duties two years ago for the Alvinston Flyers Jr. C hockey club. Shannon took a year off from coaching, but he couldn't wait to jump back onto the bench when he got the call.
For the 2006-07 hockey season, Annett was the head coach for the Mooretown Flags Jr. C team.
"I couldn't turn down the opportunity to coach WOHL hockey in my hometown". Annett said. Annett has coached in the Petrolia Minor Hockey system for 10 years and is still actively involved with his son's bantam team. From a family of four boys, he grew up playing in P-town with his twin brother. Hockey has always been a big part of his life, along with working on his family farm. Annett is married to Beth and has two children Brett and Brooke.
Annett plans on incorporating Hometown Petrolia style hockey along with some extra pride and heart. He knows from experience that it takes team work, dedication, good work ethic, and a lot of heart to pull off a championship, just like in 2004 when PMHA went down in the history books when they captured six provincial championships.
There is only one way for this team to go and that is up. Annett is very confident that the players will pick up their game and keep the TEAM goal in mind: making it to a playoff spot before the end of the regular season schedule ends. Annett also stated "that the support of the owners Roop and Scott is just amazing. They are very dedicated to this team and the players, which is a great feeling and this day and age that is hard to come by."
